Who we are
Kaizen Lab Jiujitsu ("we", "us") runs this website, kaizenbjj.com.au, and a martial arts school at 185 Claisebrook Road, Perth WA 6000. You can contact us at info@kaizenbjj.com.au or on +61 403 040 042.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect and why
Contact form
If you use the enquiry form on this site we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), the programs you are interested in, and your message. We use this only to reply to your enquiry and to tell you about classes and trials you asked about. The form sends your details to our email inbox. This website does not keep a database of form submissions.
Trials, memberships and bookings
Free trial bookings, membership sign-ups, payments and the class calendar are provided by our booking partner PushPress, on PushPress web pages. When you use those pages, the details you enter (which can include a child's name and age, health or injury information, and payment details) are collected by PushPress and by us as the school, under the PushPress privacy policy and this one. We use this information to run classes, keep members safe, take payments and contact you about your membership.
Children
Our classes include children. If you enter a child's details, we ask that a parent or guardian does so. We use a child's information only to run their classes and keep them safe.
Website visits
We use Cloudflare to deliver and protect this website. Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to serve the site, block abuse and give us basic visit statistics. This website does not set its own tracking or advertising cookies.
Spam protection
The enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. Turnstile checks your browser and IP address when you load and submit the form.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the school and website, for those purposes:
- Cloudflare: website hosting, security, spam protection and basic statistics.
- Mailgun: sends your enquiry from the form to our inbox.
- Google: our business email, and a map on our Contact page.
- PushPress: bookings, memberships, payments and the class timetable.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where needed to protect someone's safety.
Other websites and embedded content
Our timetable page embeds the PushPress calendar and our Contact page embeds a Google map. When you view them, those providers may collect information and set cookies under their own policies. Links to social media or booking pages take you to other sites we do not control.
Overseas disclosure
Some of these providers (including Cloudflare, Mailgun, PushPress and Google) store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. By using this site you understand your information may be handled there.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails stay in our email inbox until we no longer need them, and we delete them on request. Membership and booking records are kept for as long as you are a member and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records and legal obligations.
Keeping it safe
The site uses HTTPS. Access to our email and booking systems is restricted to staff who need it. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or to correct or delete it, by emailing info@kaizenbjj.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time. To unsubscribe from any marketing message, use the link in the message or tell us.
If you think we have mishandled your information, contact us first so we can try to fix it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
