The name Kaizen Labs reflects our fundamental beliefs in Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu jitsu. “Kaizen” is a Japanese business philosophy of continuous improvement and personal efficiency. Our journey in the Martial Arts is about continuously improving proficiency in the art and ourselves. We can all get better – whether you are a beginner or a black belt of 20 years. The “Labs” part reflects our attitude towards creating a safe environment allowing for safe training, testing and learning.
Kaizen Lab Jiujitsu Head Coach, Brandon Chin, was awarded his black belt by in October 2010 by his coaches Stacey Wilson and Troy Flugge and John Will (Will-Machado Australia). A second Dan grade was more recently awarded in February 2017.
As a Father, Coach and Mentor, Brandon wanted to create a safe training environment to share his passion with his family and friends. An environment that allowed him to develop training programs that all members could benefit from, including his own children, to bring out the best in people.
Brandon is passionate about martial arts and in addition to his expertise in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, he has had extensive training in a range of different systems including various Filipino weapon combatives, Judo, Kung Fu, kick boxing but to name a few.
You will find Brandon on the mats most nights teaching, demonstrating, rolling and just having fun.
The culture of the school is as important to us as the martial skills that we teach. What we believed in and brought out the best in people. We wanted to develop good human beings that we were proud to have as ambassadors. Martial arts to us have always been about combining martial arts, integrity and an outlook on life that benefitted them as well as the people in their lives. This has been reflected in the our adults, children and families that are involved with our School.
Our core values are mutual respect, trust and inclusiveness. Where everyone from senior members to newly joined members; everyone respects themselves and one another, trusts that they have their team members best interest and safety in mind and includes each other as one team. Where there are ways to improve we will continue to do so to ensure all the men, women and children that step through our doors enjoy their martial arts journey.
We look forward to welcoming you through our doors to join us for this wonderful journey in Brazilian Jiujitsu and martial arts.
